~Synopsis~
Gekkou, or "Moonlight", is about the peculiar relationship between a cynical boy and a perfect girl.

Said cynical boy is Nonomiya who spends day in day out in boredom, taking refuge from his dull life in his imagination. One fateful day, he happens upon the notebook of the much-rumored beauty Youko Tsukimori, neglected on the ground. Poking out from it is a scrap of paper with the unexpected title "Murder Recipe". His interest ignited, he immediately stuffs it into his pocket, only to find out the promising recipe contains nothing but scenarios that may or may not lead to deadly accidents, not even worthy of being called a plan.

When he tentatively asks her about it the next day, she hasn't lost anything. But then her father dies. An accident...

~After Thoughts~
It is certainly an interesting light novel. What I like about it are the mystery surrounding the "Murder Recipe". It feels so mysterious and you can't quite get it out of your mind. When you think that you've figured the novel out, subtle clues peppered here and there makes you doubt your assumption. Its frustrating but in a good way. The highlight of this light novel is definitely the character interactions between the male and female lead. Not your typical romcom kind of interactions but more witty and can get pretty intellectual. There a few supporting casts but all of which have quite the unique personality, from the cute, genki female chairman to the tsundere assistant chef and the suspicious detective. The romantic aspect of this light novel I enjoyed very much. The constant teasing with one another and trying to second guess each other was pretty fun though the female lead "conquered" most of the time. The ending by the moonlight where she finally got truly accepted was really touching. But don't forget that this is after all still a horror, thriller light novel and it never fails to remind you that it is one.

Finished this like maybe weeks ago? It was good, not sure what else to say, besides I liked it and pretty sure he didn't end up with Usami that really got to me, but whatever.

It was great, only too short. I'd have loved to see more of those highly intellectual and and competitive conversions. ;)

Love this novel.. 10/10

Hopefully, Hen Ai Psychedelic(set in the same world as Gekkou + I heard that Tsukimori and Nonomiya makes an appearance in the second novel) gets translated...
